Solar-Electric Motor Cycle
A proof of concept solar-electric motor cycle was produced with funding from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. A heavily modified Dualtron Thunder was used as the foundation for the build with the goal of creating a highly affordable, self-charging vehicle for developing nations.
Extensive irradiance testing was performed to asses energy gain of vertically mounted panels from ambient and reflected light.
Two 100 watt flexible Monocrystalline Panels were connected to the main battery using a PWM solar charge controller. Foot mounts, steering and handle modifications and electronic wiring were performed by Rizwan.
